View East

Our View East vineyard is over the eastern end of Waiheke Island near Orapiu. It was lovingly planted in the early 2000’s in 100% Syrah grapes by Bridgit and Daren Day. They worked hard and produced some of the best examples of Waiheke Syrah for many years. Sadly in 2013 Daren passed away.

After spending time selling the grapes to other wine producers on the island in 2015 Bridgit decided she wanted a more long term solution for her pride and joy. This coincided with a time when we were looking for more vineyards and so we became involved in July.

The vineyard has approximately 1.5 hectares of vines and our desire is to carry on the good work of the Day’s and produce the best wine possible each vintage.

Arae

Te Arae is our Chardonnay vineyard, with approximately 1.5 hectares planted, and sits just below Cable Bay. It too has been providing wine for other winemakers over the years, and we took this vineyard over in 2016. We are working to increase the vineyards productivity without compromising the quality of the wine. The views are over green pasture to the sea out to the western side of the island. We are looking to bring out our first vintage in March 2018.

Delamore

This was the piece of land that started us on our journey. It is a small – Postage Stamp sized – vineyard and we have planted Marsanne and Roussanne here as an experiment. We hope to harvest from the Marsanne in 2018 and the Roussanne as well in 2019. This is likely to only produce a very exclusive supply with between 400 and 500 bottles expected.
